Hi Marjan,
I came across The Land Listens and spent some time with your concept what stood out immediately wasn’t just the setting, but the restraint in how you’re approaching the idea of “progress.” That quiet tension between Elias and Chief Stone Crow feels intentional in a way most Western narratives don’t attempt.
Stories like this tend to resonate deeply with a specific kind of reader but they don’t always reach them naturally, especially early on. With themes like land, conscience, and conflicting worldviews, your book sits in a space that benefits more from precise positioning than broad exposure.
Out of curiosity are you currently doing anything to shape how the story is being discovered, or are you letting it grow organically for now?
I ask because I’ve worked with a few authors in similar literary/historical spaces, and often small shifts in how the story is presented (not rewritten, just reframed) can significantly change how readers connect with it.
Either way, I’d love to see where you take this. It’s a compelling foundation.
