@LemonLoaf Here late, but the award seems pretty normal to me. The payment is fair enough for the amount of work put in an award, especially since there's only one judge. And the rewards are really good.
@LemonLoaf It seems like you mostly want people to read your book and put a lot of effort into providing feedback and get that in return. Which is fine, but perhaps restructure it as a book club where the group will provide beta reads for each other's works. As it is right now it isn't run like any of the other contests I've seen here. Usually it's, follow the contest host and judges, submit your story, if you win you get rewarded.

...should i do awards to get more people to read my book?? It would be an actual awards thing of course, one of the rewards would be a review for whatever book they submitted, and a collage that represents their main character, and/or a character of their choosing. The main payment would be to read Heliotrope n comment something helpful on every chapter.
It would be a small thing, so not a lot of categories. Probaly three slots for each, anddddddddddddddddddd like three, maybe five categories total? Categories would be typical stuff like fantasy, worldbuilding, etc, but it would also be cool to do one like "best character" and whatnot!!

3. Line Editing
$0.02 per word or $20 per 1k. Includes tone, flow, dialogue polish, emotional clarity.
4. Developmental Editing
$0.03 per word or $30 per 1k. Includes plot, pacing, arcs, worldbuilding, structure.
5. Creative Writing Commissions
$0.08 per word, 300‑word minimum. Any tone, any characters, any genre. Includes revisions.
What I Need From You

What I Will Not Do
Explicit content involving minors or anything hateful or discriminatory. I may decline projects if needed.
Turnaround Time
Under 5k: 2–4 days.
5k–20k: 4–7 days.
