Hello, my name is Abear Therese Mikha.

When I lived in Germany, people called me Abia, and now, here in Canada, some call me Abbey. Each name carries a piece of my journey - like petals from different seasons of the same beautiful flower.

I am forty-four now, still softly whispering, "Where has the time gone?" My twenties drifted by like morning mist, my thirties scattered like autumn leaves - and yet here I stand, pen in hand, still weaving poems and humble dreams.

Since childhood, I have carried within me a creative spirit - always reaching for sacred words that help me understand life's meaning more profoundly.

In high school, I was a model student and an All-Star soccer player - MVP of the year 2000 team. I was also a proud voice in the multicultural club, an actress on stage, and above all, a creative soul with many gifts.

Later, at university, I grew quieter and learned that degrees do not always open doors. True wisdom, I discovered, often arrives through divine love, real friendship, reflection, and the lived experience of perseverance.

When the world grew still during the pandemic, my words found their wings. In that season of silence, I wrote and published three books - and then, with time and reflection, chose to unpublish them. Some were controversial, and I changed my mind about much of what I had written.

Now, here on Wattpad, I am sharing my poetry collection called, The Choice of Compassion. If anything were ever to happen to me, I hope to be remembered as just a poet.

The deepest reason I write is to bear witness to Jesus Christ and His radiant light - to share His unconditional love with humanity, so that hope may be rekindled in hearts, lighting the way toward a brighter today and a more radiant tomorrow.

I am a proud Assyrian Gnostic Christian, and that will never change. I was brought into this world as an Assyrian woman - a vessel of God - for a reason that many may not yet understand. Perhaps, one day, they will. ❤️
