@ScienceFiction An alien like Supergirl would be great. Blend in but know just how powerful you truly are, with the capability to do great good, to actually change the burning universe.

@sciencefiction Are we talking “barely functioning, no upgrade path” cyborg like Cinder in The Lunar Chronicles?

Or “fully optimized, sponsor-backed, borderline terrifying” like Darrow?

Or is this more of a pick your player situation, like I wrote in in S.S. Olympus, where cyborgs and aliens with different abilities actually balance each other out?

Because choosing without knowing the rules of the world feels… strategically unwise.

@ScienceFiction Cyborg. No hesitation.
If I’m stepping into another existence, I’m not hiding, I’m upgrading. Give me the tech, the control, the edge. Let everyone else wonder what I am while I’m already ten steps ahead.

@ScienceFiction The Kryptonians. I would love to meet Supergirl, and Krypton in the show was beautiful. Their intelligence is higher than any human. Or the Sith sound interesting. Daleks. Weeping angels. So many, maybe we should set up a meet n greet!

@ScienceFiction Given the condition of our planet right now its highly doubtful we will make it till that long , but if we do ,we will live like as an cyberpunk edgerunners but more advanced, the humans if they exist will be super advanced with chips and implants , but sadly there maybe very little greenery ,there are possibilities we may start living on other planets .The future is exciting as well as scary , and I wish the future generations best of luck .

Human crew. But would request a hybrid ship.

LanaLazarAuthor

@ScienceFiction Maybe a myriad - a hybrid, so if one fails you switch to the other. Failsafe, always a good fallback.

@ScienceFiction Rely only on human crew decisions. ~ As rational as a computer is, emotions also play a role in making a decision. Sometimes you have to trust your instinct.

@ScienceFiction Discover evidence of aliens still living nearby because we may get to interact with them
Reply

napalmprincess

@ ScienceFiction I’d choose the ruins.
A civilization that already burned its fuel, ran its experiments, made its mistakes, and left behind the cooled glass. You get the sediment of intention. The mineral record of thought. Architecture as fossilized cognition.

Living aliens nearby would bend every axis at once - ethics, language, power. It wouldn’t be discovery; it would be negotiation. Every telescope suddenly a loaded question. Every signal a boundary you might already be violating just by listening. Curiosity becomes trespassing.
But ruins… ruins are quiet enough to let you think.
You could walk through corridors shaped by a physics you only half understand. Touch walls engineered by hands that solved problems you haven’t even named yet. Try to reverse-engineer their fears from the thickness of their doors. Their hopes from what they bothered to preserve.
It would feel like reading a diary written in isotopes.
And there’s something merciful about the time gap. Millions of years is a buffer - emotional radiation shielding
