I've been writing songs and stories for a long time-sometimes they come out as music, sometimes as something else.
I've had music on Spotify and Apple Music, and I've spent time on the road with artists like David Allan Coe. Most of what I write comes from those miles between places, not the places themselves.
I've lived through a lot of music history along the way-
a guitar signed by Willie Nelson, Joe Ely, and Chris LeDoux;
shows with Waylon Jennings;
backstage with the Allman Brothers and Guns N' Roses;
conversations with Ricky Medlocke on the way to another stage.
None of it is the point.
It's just where the road kept happening.
Years ago, I recorded Rezidue. It found its way to the people it was meant for.
Now I'm building something new.
The Dead Cowboys is a modern western, coming-of-age story about two boys becoming legends they didn't choose.
It's part novel, part memory, part conversation between where I've been and what I'm still trying to understand.
A boy survives a killing. A knife changes everything. Nothing stays simple after that.
It's a story about love, identity, and what we become when nothing stays simple.
