It was about 6pm, the sun was going to set any moment now and Clay knew he planned it all ever so perfectly. He slid the bandana off George's head and waited for a reaction from his boyfriend.

George stood there for a second, the now setting sun blinding him a little bit. When his vision did clear, his already goofy grin, widened. "Clay," he gaped at the beautiful sight. Even though he was colorblind, the large pond reflected the sun's bright rays heavenly, the slight wind causing little waves which swayed the tree's reflections.

"Do you like it?" Clay questioned his eyes never left George's happy and delighted smile.

"Y-Yes, Clay. How could one not like this?" George's smile relaxed and he turned to Clay. The blonde's facial features were brought out by the warm tones of the sun, his freckles popping out more than normal.

Clay took his eyes off George and focused on the pond and setting sun. He inhaled, taking in the cold air and forest smell. All this relaxed Clay, being here with George and knowing he was safe from anyone's judgement here.

After a little bit of silence, the two of them found a fallen tree on the edge of the water where they took a seat. George cuddled up next to Clay, who welcomed him into a warm embrace. The silence was comforting, no longer uncomfortable as they got to know one another, and their love continued.

George had enough of the silence, though. "Clay?" he asked in a near whisper not wanting to disturb Clay who had his eyes out on the water and tossing trees, the sun beginning to tuck behind the low hills and trees as well.

"Hmm?" Clay hummed, matching the quiet George brought.

"I need to talk with you about the other day."

"What do you mean?" Clay asked, clearly forgetting about the whole situation with Simon and School.

"Um, Simon and such. I don't know why haven't told you yet." Clay frowned. He knew that something happened, but he didn't want to push George.

"Yeah?"

"Uh-Yeah," George stuttered but took a breath in and out before continuing, "Umm, not only did he tell me that you didn't love me-" Clay cut him off hurriedly.

"You know that I love you, George. Please don't bring this up again." Clay said in an annoyed tone, but it held so much care.

"Yes, yes Clay, I know you love me... And I love you too. That wasn't my point. My point was that he-he took my phone as well. I don't know why. But that was why I didn't reply to any of your texts or calls. I didn't mean to ignore you that day, in fact I needed you the most that day." He finally rushed out with quick breaths.

"I'm going to kill that bastard." Clay mumbled under his breath. George was close enough to hear him though.

"Clay, no. Don't risk yourself for me please." George argued. This is what he feared. He didn't want Clay to do anything, even if he enjoyed the protection.

"But I know why he did that. He wanted you to have no one to go to. He fucking-he fucking did it so you would be alone." Clay near shouted, which made George tense. "Sorry George, it's just so fucking stupid that Simon does this to you. I am so done with it."

George nodded but kept quiet. Clay brought him closer, as if they weren't close enough. He squeezed George's petite, soft, body and gave him a kiss on the cheek. His manner completely changed, now more playful even if he still held a protective grasp of the boy. "You're so pretty." George blushed.

"What?" George asked in a lighter tone.

"I said you're pretty." Clay laughed. "Very pretty in fact."

"You're very pretty too, Clay!" George said now laughing, clearing out whatever tension he held on his shoulders. Clay made it so easy to relax around. Yet, he made it so hard. How was that possible, no one will ever know.

"No, I'm handsome and strong." Clay corrected, now lifting his arms off George's sides and showing off his toned arm. George only rolled his eyes.

"Pretty."

"Handsome... No, I'm sexy, aren't I?" Clay broke out into a wheeze. George was now dying of laughter his blush from before not leaving.

"Yes, of course. I would say I am too!" George added. Clay couldn't speak he was laughing too hard; his wheezes so loud birds took off from the trees.

After their joking session, they stayed on the log which sat along the lily pad covered pond for good twenty minutes, making small conversation or giving each other surprise kisses, before driving home. All during this time, even though Clay was enjoying the laughter and joy that George brought, he couldn't keep his mind away from what George had said.  He hated Simon with a passion now. But how could he keep George safe during school if they weren't together except on breaks?

Once Clay dropped George off at his own place, he drove back in a hurry not wanting to upset his dad if he got home early. After all he was now living with his family again, he needed to follow the unbearable rules. Luckily when he made it back to his home, both parents were still gone and at work.

After entering the house, taking off his shoes, and grabbing something from his kitchen to eat, he rushed upstairs to his room. He needed to plan for tomorrow. He needed to protect George from Simon. Ugh, Simon. Just the name made him want to curse.

He settled at his desktop and turned it on, opening discord immediately and making a Group chat named, "PGC" which meant, "Protect George at all Costs." He laughed at the name, but it was all he could come up with. In the group was, Nick, Darryl, Karl, which were all people which he knew shared at least one class period with George and new him. Clay took a quick breath before sending everyone a message to except the invite to the group chat.

Once everyone was online, he began a call.

"What's this, Clay?" Nick asked.

"Is this for Minecraft or something?" Karl questioned further.

"Let him talk guys!" Darryl finally spoke, laughing lightly. Clay sighed and everyone's green circles quieted.

"It's about George, Simon is being absolutely terrible and toxic to him. I only have breaks where I can meet up with him. I was hoping you guys would help?" Clay pushed out even if it embarrassed him a little bit. He never really asked for help as he was "Mr. Perfect."

Everyone agreed which relieved Clay a ton.

"How can we help?" Darryl added after everyone said their words of agreement.

"You guys all have at least one period with George and in different periods as well?"

Everyone said a quick yes, urging for Clay to just get to the point. He stared at his screen, a little anxious his plan might sound silly to them. He got over his little bridge of anxiety, but it took him a moment to put his trust into them.

"So, you just want us to keep an eye on George whenever the Asshole is around?" Nick asked not even calling Simon by his name during their discussion, instead using curse words. Which Darryl would often nonchalantly say, "Language." repeatedly to.

'Yeah...." Clay trailed; nervous his most trusting friend would refuse.

"Sounds good!" Nick said cheerfully. Clay let out a sigh of relief as everyone else said the same.

"Thank you, guys, For everything, really!" Clay let out a nervous giggle. Now he could only pray that his plan would work the next day.
