The hospital lights were soft now.
You sat beside Alex, watching his chest rise and fall.

He was awake.
He was quiet.

Too quiet.

☁️ The Conversation

You (smiling nervously):
"You scared me, you know."

Alex (softly):
"I scared myself."

You:
"I thought I lost you."
(pause)
"...I still might."

He looked at you then.
Eyes dark. Tired.

Alex:
"There's something I need to tell you."

💔 The Confession

"The night before you joined the publishing house...
I already knew who you were."

You froze.

You:
"What do you mean?"

"Samantha had a file on you.
She wanted to ruin you before you even started.
I read it. I was supposed to report you.
But I didn't."

You blinked back tears.

You:
"You... knew who I was?
The whole time?
Even when we hated each other?"

Alex (whispering):
"I didn't hate you.
That's why I stayed close.
That's why I pushed you away."

Your heart cracked.

You (voice shaking):
"You let me walk into that place... knowing everyone was against me?"

Alex:
"I was trying to protect you."

You (angry):
"You were watching me."

💌 Luca's Discovery

Luca called.

His voice sounded different.

Luca:
"I found a message in the system.
Dated months ago."

It was from Alex.
To someone in upper management.

"Keep her on. She's not a threat.
She's actually... brilliant. Don't mess this up."

Luca (soft):
"He was trying to protect you.
He just never told you."

🌧️ The Rain Scene

You ran outside the hospital.
Needed air.
Needed space.

The sky opened up above you.
You didn't care.

Alex followed, half-limping in the rain.

Alex (soaked):
"I never meant to lie to you.
I didn't know I'd fall for you."

You turned.

You (through tears):
"But you did.
You fell for me while pretending.
How do I know what was ever real?"

He stepped closer.
Held your hand.

Alex (desperate):
"This. Right now.
Is real.
It's always been real."

You stared at him.

Then...

You didn't say a word.
You just kissed him in the rain.

Because even when it hurt—
it was still him.
