The Return of the King is based on stories of initiation. 'Initiation' literally means 'to go within.' In our time the need for contact with the inner world becomes increasingly evident. Without a connection between daily life and the soul, our life becomes empty. Many men seem lost in our society, in search of what it means to be a man: no macho or softie, but a man who is both in touch with his feelings, as well as being grounded in a healthy masculinity. Many men have become solitary fighters who do everything on their own. They lack contact with their fathers, their first example of masculinity. They prefer to discuss their emotional matters with women, but they lack the security and strength that stems from the contact with other men. The king, symbol for the heart, is absent. The transition from boyhood to manhood has become a forgotten stage and there are very few initiators - old wise men - who can help other men to get in touch with their own essence. This book describes the process of initiation of becoming a man; going down into the dark realms of the soul, of despair and loneliness, to come out again and be reborn into who you truly are. But it was not surprising in our nature as humans to see the likes of boys hanging out with boys and girls hanging out with girls, attitude was out of the question, when you were a kid, you’d prefer to hang out with someone of the same gender, and there’s a big chance that you’ll bring this idea until you grow up. Unless of course, when we’re talking about love. Jace Langston was not a part of this system. Instead of joining the rightful packs of the male population, he somewhat managed to infiltrate the high ranks of the opposite gender and has seven female best friends to prove it. He’s smart, talented and quite straight if you look from a different perspective, but one day he decided for it to stop. No more questions about his sexuality, no more teasing and joking around about his preferences and most of all, no more questions about his masculinity. Trapped into the responsibility of transforming their best friend into the typical-normal guy nowadays, the seven girl friends came up with a witty and outrageous plan for Jace to be the new Adonis of the century. But the real question is, would he be able to handle it?

As a girl who's extremely committed to what they're doing, I'm glad to present my first completed book to myself as a gratitude to all the self harm, insecurities and self doubt I've had for myself mostly caused by overthinking. Us, everyone should know valuing yourself is the best gift you can ever give yourself even if you're just existing; nothing else. Being you is quite enough. I know you're struggling darling and it's okay to struggle. In that case if you're not struggling right now, put your finger right above your nose, check if you're breathing .. So if you are, this is my gift for you, just for surviving this long. Also i haven't still decided an ending nor the start for this but saying all this felt important because you are worth writing for and nobody would say otherwise. - Wednesday 1st January 2025
