The night had been perfect. Almost too perfect.

Sophie was buzzing with excitement, curled up on the couch with her mocktail, while the rest of us lounged in our usual spots, trading stories and laughing until our sides hurt.

The Big-Little Reveal had been a success, the house was glowing with candlelight, and for the first time in a long time, everything felt peaceful.

Which should've been my first warning.

Because peace never lasts long when Dewina Tally is involved.

It starts with a knock.

A slow, deliberate knock that echoes through the house.

Evie groans. "Ugh. If that's another pizza delivery guy at the wrong house, I'm suing."

Amber frowns. "We didn't order pizza."

My stomach twists. Something doesn't feel right.

Sophie perks up.

Hailey, closest to the door, sighs and gets up, unlocking it with a flick of her wrist. The second it swings open, I know we're screwed.

Because there she is.

Dewina.

Standing on our doorstep like the villain in a horror movie.

And she didn't come alone.

Everly is by her side, smirking like she knows something we don't. And behind them? Cali, Shilo, Lucelia, and Darcie—the PNM rejects.

The girls we cut.

The girls who were supposed to be gone.

Sophie leans in and whispers, "Uh... why do I feel like we're about to be murdered?"

Evie swings her legs off the couch and sits up, her eyes narrowing. "Oh, hell no."

Dewina lets herself in, brushing past Hailey like she owns the place. "What?" she purrs, all sugar and venom. "Not happy to see me?"

I cross my arms. "Not particularly."

She pouts. "That's so hurtful, Rosalie."

Sophie looks between us. "Wait... are the eliminated PNMs even allowed to be here?"

The answer is no.

Sororities have strict rules about non-members being inside the house without permission. And Dewina may be in Alpha Theta Pi, but the girls she dragged in with her? Absolutely not.

Everly steps forward, twirling a strand of perfectly curled hair around her finger. "We were just stopping by to say hi. So much happened tonight, and we didn't get to celebrate with everyone."
