A Year Later, Summer after graduating BBU

The flashbulbs were blinding, the noise deafening, and the excitement almost palpable as Reed and I made our way down the red carpet.

He was dressed to the nines in a sharp black tuxedo, the tailored fit accentuating his broad shoulders and trim physique. His hair was styled perfectly, and even though it was still early in the evening, I could tell he was loving every second of the attention.

"God, I feel like a million bucks," Reed muttered, glancing over at me with a grin. "Hope they get my good side."

I rolled my eyes playfully, tugging my hand from his briefly so I could give him a mock serious look. "Sweetheart, all sides of you are your good side."

Reed chuckled, a low sound that had my heart skipping a beat. "Yeah, but I gotta make sure the cameras catch the best one. This is my moment, after all." He gave a small wink before he looked around. "But, you know, if I had to pick... I think your best side is when your butt's against my—"

"Kiss, kiss!" He was cut off as one of the paparazzi shouted.

And before either of us could even think, Reed tugged me toward him, his hand resting at the small of my back as his lips met mine in a quick, sweet kiss. The flashes around us intensified, but I could care less as I wrapped my arms around his neck, pulling him closer for a moment.

When we pulled apart, Reed grinned widely, the gleam of mischief still in his eyes. "See? Told you that'd get their attention."

I couldn't help but laugh. "You're ridiculous."

"We're both ridiculous," he said, his smile growing even more. "But this is our night, babe."

The photographer clicked away as we continued to pose, Reed's arm comfortably around my waist, the two of us laughing and taking in the surreal experience. When it was finally time to move on, we slid into the limo waiting for us, the door closing behind us with a soft click, leaving the chaos of the red carpet behind.
