RAM RAJYA. A PERFECT LAND. A place where dharma is never broken, and destiny unfolds as it should. But Aarohi, who doubted everything-gods, fate, even history, was about to arrive. A stranger in a world that wasn't hers. A place where every choice mattered, every action echoed, and nothing stayed hidden. Some journeys change more than just the traveler... they change everything.

For this story, we'll be looking at the tail-end of some versions of the Ramayana - when Sita finally meets Rama again, after spending years in exile with her sons. Now, this is a story that has a lot of room for interpretation and mixed feelings. Was Sita's undying devotion to Rama a mistake? Was her tragic ending just a symptom of the times? Was Rama in the wrong for his stubborn and steadfast duty to his kingdom, over the love for his wife? These are all things that you'll have to decide for yourself, dear reader. (As noted, this is a retelling of just one version of the story. There are also versions of the story where Sita does not get exiled again, and the story ends happily.)

In this autobiographical narrative, Urmila, the steadfast sister of Sita and devoted wife to Lakshmana, reclaims her voice from the shadows of the Ramayana. Long overshadowed as the "forgotten wife," she weaves a tapestry of her life-marked by joy, sacrifice, quiet strength, and an extraordinary slumber that spanned fourteen years. Through her intimate first-person perspective, Urmila explores themes of duty, love, resilience, and the unseen burdens borne by women in epic tales. The story spans her childhood in Mithila, the grandeur of her marriage, the heart-wrenching exile, her ethereal years of enforced sleep, and her triumphant return to a changed world. This is not merely a retelling but a reclamation: Urmila's dreams, doubts, and unyielding spirit finally illuminated.

Rama went through a lot more than just what is known to most people. He smiled through adversity, but did that mean he was happy? What did he feel, as a child, when he achieved all his feats? When people hailed him? What did he feel like when he himself needed to exile his wife? When he needed to ask her to prove her purity? When he saw Lakshmana walk to him despite his order to him to protect Sita? When he finally killed Ravana? When he met his sons? This is an attempt to comprehend just that. (It's an attempt, also, to humanise Sri Rama and see him as more than just a king. It's to see his emotions behind the confident aura of an emperor. Please do not read further if humanising Sri Rama is something you're against. Thanks :)

Krishna has ultimately fulfilled the prophecy of slaying Kans and ending his callous rule over the ancient kingdom of Mathura. A land split by a prehistoric conflict between humans and Rakshasas (A race of giant creatures with unnatural quirks like shape-shifting and invisibility). But now, it is up to Krishna, as the new king of Mathura, to either bring peace among the belligerent factions or burn their strife forever in the flames of war. Karna is a mere fisherboy but is truly exceptional with the bow. He dreams of becoming a warrior someday, yet bound by the shackles of an archaic philosophy, he is prohibited by society to study the arts and sciences of combat. Filled with a desire to become a great warrior that reaches beyond everything he holds dear, Karna embarks on a dangerous journey, filled with deadly beasts and mystical trails, only to find himself a teacher. Bhishma is believed to be the greatest warrior in the continent of Aryavrath and the rightful heir to the kingdom of Hastinapur. Yet, guilty of mistakes committed in his youth, he vows to serve Hastinapur as a servant instead of a king. A selfless act to prevent conflict within his family? Or a foolish decision that would destroy everything that he hoped to preserve? "The Kuru War" isn't another story of a battle between good and evil, instead, it narrates a struggle that defined the morals and norms of an age-old society. It is a thrilling story of beings that had the power to shape the future, a fantastical tale of the rise and fall of the Kuru clan told as an action-packed reimagination of a timeless Sanskrit epic, Mahabharata. **Cover image by Subroto Art

The Untold contexts left burried inside. Ramayana is an ancient Indian epic written sometime in the fifth century BCE about Rama, prince of Ayodhya who is exiled and then returns. The sage Valmiki wrote it in Sanskrit and taught it to Rama's sons, the twins Lava and Kush. It is a rather long poem, with approximately 24000 verses and is known as the Adi Kavya. (adi = original, first; kavya=poem) While the basic story is about palace politics and battles with demon tribes, the narrative is interspersed with philosophy, ethics, and notes on duty. This book states most of the facts that people are oblivious of. Cover credits- @hazelwolfx
