Every living thing is dying on earth. Organisms, plants, insects, birds, man and, everything else that's a living thing, is dead or dying. An ancient disease has waken in our bodies that has been around since the beginning of earth. Anything that breaths in earth's air or, drinks the water or even has been born on earth were all doomed. So, the last of the humans have sent a time capsule into space, hoping and praying that anyone would find the capsule and find the heart to help the living things on earth. I am about to be sacrificed! It is necessary for my planets survival. If I don't then the God that lives in our sun will shallow our planet whole. But a man is here telling me that our planet isn't worth saving. He is giving me an out of a path that I had no choice in, but if I do everyone will die! What would you do? This is a short story that I wrote for an @SciKick competition the goal was to involve 1000 in some way and keep the word count under 1000. I managed to do both in a story that I am pretty happy with. However I will let you guys make the decision on it.

2230 A.D. Earth Commander Lee McDaniel is home on leave when an urgent message from his commanding officer comes. A rescue mission to an impossible system, in a galaxy not yet explored by mankind. He takes the job excited for the chance to go somewhere new. But excitement turns to a living nightmare and a fight for his lif to escape the galaxy, to escape Triangulum.

"There was no denying it. Rein was alone, staring into the grey horizon of the world that made no sense. Again." Time is at a stand-still. The sun is set in its place in the western sky, never flinching. Everything else on the island remains frozen in time. Until Rein touches it. The problem is, he has no clue how he got there.
