The day is set for sunset

The day is set for sunset. I parked the car and walked inside the house after meeting Savana. I went to meet her this morning, and now it's already late. Not for her but for me.

“Are you here?” Mumma asked, sitting in the hall. Playing with white fur. As he saw him, he ran towards me with his tail wagging in the air. I bent down and caressed him.

“How was the day?” She asked, and I smiled at her, putting my purse on the table.

“Good, but I am so tired” I said, and she chuckled. Taking out the treats for White Fur from the new packet.

“Where are Ira and Laksh?" I asked, looking everywhere.

“Ira is in tuition. And Laksh hasn't come yet” she said. I nod, collecting my messy hair in a bun.

“Where is Papa?" I asked, and she looked at me like she was saying that you know it. Yes, of course, no one knows where he must be because he just wants to pass the time.

“I am going for a shower” I said, taking my purse from the table.

“I am going for a walk with White Fur. Take care. And don't open the gate for anyone. Laksh is going to come at any moment" she said, and I nod from the stairs.

I loosen my saree from the pants. And collect the clothes from the closet for a shower. Only a shower can erase the tiredness of the whole day. Even though we didn't do anything. We just had lunch, and I helped her shop, but still my feet are hurting. And more than  my neck.

I pushed the glass door of the shower inside the bathroom. The smell of Laksh shower gel reaches  my nostrils. I shook my head before putting his gel in its place.

I turned the knob expecting a thin stream of warm water, but instead the water exploded out of it. Spraying widely in every direction. I immediately turned the knob to stop the water, but instead it's just gotten a little slower. With my closed eyes and half-soaked hair, I use my entire strength. It took a second longer, but the water finally  slowed. At least it's not going in every direction. And flooding the entire bathroom.

I sighed and went out of the bathroom for air. How am I supposed to take a shower in this condition? I look at the hanging watch. Laksh is going to come in any minute, so I just have to wait for him.

I sat on the chair looking outside. The ray of sun gives relief to my soaked hair. My eyes landed on a Sushila aunty who was running behind her daughter with the water pipe in her hand, barefoot on the streets. My hand flew to my mouth.

Sushila aunty suddenly stopped running and let her run away. Her steps slowed, and she hid the water pipe behind her. Smiling at someone. Until I saw Laksh's car passing by her. His face is half visible while he is driving with one hand, and with the other he has his phone in his hand, talking to someone on the call.

Sushila aunty waved at him; Laksh smiled at her. The gate opened, and his car disappeared into the underground garage. I place my hand on the glass window, looking at everything like a stalker wife. Who was he talking to?
