Cassian's POV

"Why?" Coach glared at me.

"I had a change of heart," I answered.

He rubbed his temples. "Cassian, you're our best player and our captain. You can't just leave."

"James is good," I told him. "Let him replace me."

"Even if I allow you to quit, what would the guys on team who are depending on you, Principal Lockwood, and most importantly, your father, think?"

"You won't tell them until game day," I told him as I pulled out my wallet. "How much is your silence fee?"

He scoffed as he leaned back into his chair. "I can't believe you're like the others."

"I'm rich," I said coldly. "What's the difference? Pick your price."

He glared at me. "Unlike the other teachers here, you can't buy me."

"I can pay for your daughter's college education without even making a dent in my parents' bank account," I told him. "Still can't be bought?"

He shallowed hard as he pulled out a paper from his drawer.

I smiled.

That was easy.

He picked up his phone before dialing a number.

I furrowed my eyebrows. "What are you doing?"

"I'm calling your father," he said and my eyes widened.

I could already feel the hard slap that would come my way.

I quickly grabbed his phone. "Stop."

He smiled. "Not until I know that you're staying on the team."

"Coach, you don't understand. I have to do this," I pleaded.

"Me, too," he said as he pulled away his phone and began calling my father again.

"Okay!" I quickly gave in.

I looked down to the ground. "I'll do it."

"Good," he proudly said. "Now get going. Practice starts in ten."

I sighed frustratedly as I left his office.

I'm sick of everyone holding threats against me.

As I walked down the hallway, I clenched my fists as my frustration grew.

My mind raced with thoughts and before I knew it, I crashed into someone.

I immediately grabbed their waist to prevent them from falling.

"Are you o-"

I immediately stopped talking when I realized it was Raven in my arms.

I blinked, hoping that my eyes would focus.
